The Church According To The "Oh No Blocks"

When our grandson, Nolan, was 2-years old, we had a game that we would play with the blocks shown in this photo. We called them "Oh No Blocks" because Nolan would help us stack up all 10 of the blocks and then with a big smile or the cutest laugh ever, he would knock our stack and we would do it all over again.
Today, I want to share with you three important truths about the church as illustrated with these blocks.
When the blocks are scattered around the room, you cannot see them stacked up like you see in this photo. The church cannot be the church that God has created us to be if we are not gathered together and doing our part to build up one another.
If you put the bigger blocks on top of the smaller blocks, you can't see the smaller blocks because they will be sitting inside of the bigger blocks. Likewise, if the more mature Christians are not building up the newer Christians then they will get hurt or lost in the process.
If you don't line up your shapes, your numbers or your animals, then even though the boxes are stacked up, it won't make sense like it does in this photo. There you can see that one side has the numbers, one side has the shapes and so on. The church's message will not be understood unless we handle the Word of God correctly. Instead of chaos, we need truth.
In Ephesians 4:12, Paul said that God gave certain people such as “shepherds” and teachers “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ”
Then in Ephesians 4:16, Paul said that when the church is working together like it is supposed to, the church body “builds itself up in love”. The question is "Are we building up each other or tearing down each other?"
